Have you ever iimagined that Android ecosystem powere a digital camera one day? Well, according to a recent report, Samsung is now evaluating the Android-based digital camera market.
Samsung’s research & development team is looking into the possibilities of an open ecosystem camera, and they are definitely considering Android, but wouldn’t flat out say that was their current choice. ”We are considering Android-based because our smartphone is Android-based.” the Samsung spokesperson said.
There is still a lot of work to be done in realizing the concept. As Polaroid’s Smart Camera demonstrates, it’s not enough to just slap Android onto a digital camera and call it a day. We suspect Samsung would do quite a bit of modification in terms of UI and functionality in order to achieve their vision of an Android-powere camera.
